APD Arrest man after morning shooting

Austin Police have arrested a suspect after shots were fired from one vehicle to another in a north Austin neighborhood this morning. The suspect was seen driving erratically on I-35. A driver of a car with two other people tells APD the suspect shot several times at them but missed. The suspect whose name Police have not yet released was arrested in Manor without incident.

Austin Police shut down roads at the intersection of Hearthside Drive and Putnam near 183 and Peyton Gin as they investigate the shots fired call. APD Lt. Ken Hubbs reported, it started when motorists noticed an erratic driver on I-35, and decided to follow them. The suspect pulled over and stepped out, brandished a firearm and fired his weapon about five times, prompting the driver to flee and call 911. 

The suspect also fled and Hubbs said, police have located the suspects vehicle at a shopping center near Lamar and Anderson. Officers have locked down that area as well in their search for the shooter. No injuries were reported.
