ATX Council postpones homeless camping vote

Austin City Hall

Austin City Council failed to make a vote on changing the homeless camping ordinances. Several city leaders kicked off the Special Council Session this morning with the sole goal of passing some ordinance changes that would toughen the camping codes the city eased in July. But by around noon, more and more councilmembers voiced their concerns, displeasures and flat out discomfort with the proceedings. So much so council decided they would instead postpone the vote to October 17th.
