Since 2011 Austin’s car insurance rates have jumped 45 percent.
That’s according the the State of Auto Insurance Report from Austin-based insurance search engine The Zebra. Market Insights Director Allyssa Connally pinpoints who’s paying the most. “One of the most expensive zip codes is the UT campus area.”
While most Americans pay about $1470 a year for premiums, Austin’s average is $1764. Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston pay even more.
