An Austin area rideshare driver is under arrest after police say he kidnapped and almost sexually assaulted two women on separate nights. Sex Crimes Sergeant Sandra Benningfield says both women were passed out and with a friend, but as soon as the friend got out of the car and moved to open the victim’s door, the suspect drove off. Benningfield says APD was assisted in finding Kifle by Uber and Lyft. He now faces, kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping and attempted sexual assault charges.
She reports nearby Lakeway Police is investigating a similar case.
