Bastrop Police Chief Steve Adcock Fired by City Manager

The Chief of Police in Bastrop gets canned by City Manager Lynda Humble on Tuesday. Public Safety Director and Police Chief Steve Adcock filed an appeal challenging his firing yesterday. Adcock hopes to have his appeal heard during a Council Meeting executive session April 24.

Humble said in a statement Adcock fell short of her expectations, saying his management and communication skills were insufficient. Humble says Assistant Chief of Police James Altgelt will serve as Interim Director of Public Safety until a permanent selection can be made.
