Driver license wait times not improving despite legislation

Despite Governor Abbott signing a bill this year increasing funding for 700 new employees the Department of Public Safety to expedite the process of getting a new drivers license, wait times are still very high. 

State Senator Joan Huffman has written a letter to the DPS expressing her frustration but says she has gotten no response.  The bill Abbott signed also extends the life of a drivers license to eight years.
