One person is dead following a brief high speed chase involving Pflugerville Police.

Officers initiated a traffic stop for a moving violation on a Honda passenger vehicle at approximately 1:37 a.m. along northbound F.M. 685 near East Pfennig Lane. The driver of the vehicle, who remains unidentified pending next of kin notification by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, turned eastbound on East Pflugerville Parkway and evaded at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway near the 3500 block of East Pflugerville Parkway and rolled before coming to rest on property located north of the roadway.

Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2 also responded to the scene. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased on scene. The attempted traffic stop will be reviewed by PPD’s pursuit review board per normal protocol.
