Foundation gives a financial hand to parks

The St. David's Foundation announces one-million dollars in grants to help area parks.  Austin Mayor Pro-Tem Kathy Tovo said that help is certainly needed.

“Having this partnership to improve and enhance parks across the City of Austin is so critical. We’re in a city that has some great parks and great public places but we don’t always have the funding as a city to make enhancements," said Tovo.

St. David’s Foundation is working with the Trust for Public Land on a Healthy Parks Plan for Bastrop, Caldwell and Travis counties. The effort will use research data to identify neighborhoods where parks enhancements are most needed to improve equity and maximize health benefits.
