Following damage to the city’s main water supply line caused by flood waters over the weekend, the City of Hutto says it has lifted the boail water notice that had been in place.

City officials say the water line has been repaired, flushed, and tested. The testing results indicated that the water meets the state drinking water standards.

Throughout this advisory, official say there was no confirmed contamination of the public water distribution system.

Although not required, public works officials are suggesting water customers run their faucet for approximately one minute. Residents may want to follow the tips on the City of Hutto Public Works Boil Water Notice website.

“We owe our gratitude to Hutto public works teammates who worked all night and all day often in up to four feet of snake-infested waters repairing the systems,” said Odis Jones, Hutto City Manager. “I’m proud to say that within 24 hours of losing water pressure, our team restored the system to its normal capacity,” added Jones.

With the lifting of the boil water notice today, City of Hutto water may be used for all purposes, including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.
