Lakeway to Revise Training for Code Officers

The City of Lakeway is changing the way it trains its code enforcement officers following an investigation into some officers entering homes without permission.

According to a report from CBS Austin, city officials have validated the reports from homeowners of the entry into their homes.  City Manager Steve Jones says disciplinary measures have been taken, and revisions are being made to the training guidelines for when a code officer may and may not enter a home.

At least three Lakeway home owners have complained that the code officers entered their homes without permission while they were away from the house.
