Legislature considers digital driver license

In just a few years, your driver license may become a thing of the past, at least in terms of a physical piece of plastic that we’ve all traditionally carried around for generations.

State Senator Jose Menendez says old fashioned paper and plastic is archaic, and by digitizing all of your driver license info, it could all be stored and accessible on your mobile device.

The plan, which won’t even be introduced until 2023, already has critics.  Some say your info would be ripe for hacking.  Others fear it would give the government far too much control and access to your privacy.
