The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, in conjunction with the Austin Police Department SWAT team and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, were involved in a barricade incident in Pflugerville, Texas, today. Kevin Dickson, 55, was wanted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for a murder that occurred on April 18.

Travis County was contacted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which requested assistance in locating and apprehending Dickson. The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force adopted the case within a short time. Information was developed amongst the agencies that Dickson was at a residence in the 14500 block of Harris Ridge Boulevard in Pflugerville.

Task force members approached and surrounded the residence and provided verbal commands to surrender to authorities. When Dickson did not comply with commands and barricaded inside the residence, the task force requested tactical assistance from the Austin Police SWAT team, who arrived on scene and continued negotiations with Dickson. The SWAT team apprehended the subject after a brief struggle. Dickson will be booked into the Travis County jail, awaiting extradition.
