A Program With Austin Police Department Has Cops Tracking Down Hundreds of Sex Offenders

A Federal Grant Program called Operation Prism has Austin Police tracking down over hundred sex offenders a week.

APD Sgt. Greg Moss says the idea is to make sure the 11-hundred sex offenders living in the city are keeping the addresses they have registered current.

Sgt. Moss says program can also help sex offenders by providing resources like counseling, job training and housing opportunities.

Since the program began in July Austin Police have issued over fourteen arrest warrants for sexual predators not living at their registered address.
