San Marcos Police Officer who was critically hurt in a traffic stop returns home

Officer Claudia Cormier is cheered upon being released from the hospital. She's been there since May when she was hit by a drunk driver during a traffic stop on Interstate 35, causing her leg to be severed. What was the first thing she wanted to do? She said hugging her dog and calling her mom to tell her about the great welcome home she got.

In a video by the San Marcos Police Department Cormier says she's grateful for all the support she's gotten from the community.
