The Austin City Council is up against growing pushback over a plan to purchase property for a new South Austin homeless shelter.  With new property tax revenue limits signed into law, the City of Austin is fearful of having to make cuts to the many different social programs it funds each year.

In order to save those programs, the city council is considering ending some of its economic agreements with major corporations.  Mayor pro tem Delia Garza says those agreements should be cut before anything else.

Austin has major agreements with Apple, Samsung, and The Domain, all of which have combined to pump more than $4-billion into the economy and create thousands of jobs.

Chief Brian Manley says Jordan Wagstaff responded to the stalking call last year, and eventually began a romantic relationship while the case was still active.

Wagstaff claims he didn’t realize that kind of relationship was against APD policy.
