Abbott calling for state's college campuses to beef up safety

Safety on Texas' community and junior college campuses gets the attention of Gov. Greg Abbott. Today Abbott sent a letter to the Higher Education Coordinating Board with instructions.. "Review what the standards are. See the extent to which they need to be updated. That said, there is a lot more that can be done that must be done."

Abbott also called for state mandated campus safety audits to be completed and for the sharing of information between schools. As in a similiar letter to high schools, he asked for ideas for the Dept of Public Safety and the legislature.
