State senator from Central Texas has been accused of sexual misconduct

Dr. Charles Schwertner of Georgetown is facing an allegation he sent lew and explicit text messages to a UT graduate student he met over the summer at an even on campus.  According to three senior UT officials who spoke to the Statesman, Schwertner allegedly sent a sexually charged text message to the woman as well as a waist-down photo of himself in the shower, although that photo in question does not reportedly show a face.  The student's allegation has prompted an investigation from the school itself.

State Senator Charles Schwertner strongly denies sending inappropriate sexual texts. In a statement, attorneys for the lawmaker under investigation by the University of Texas say Schwertner "did not send any inappropriate texts, as alleged. Period." The statement said Schwertner is 'devasted over the allegations' and is concerned for the unnamed victim.
