The Texas economy continues to outpace the rest of the nation

State lawmakers will have more money to work with heading into the 86th State Legislature.  This years tax revenue saw a jump of more than 10-percent.

Just over $119-billion dollars was the total tax revenue generated by Texas in 2018.

Comptroller Glen Hegar with the State’s latest economic outlook said he expects continued growth for the remainder of this fiscal year, though at a more moderated rate.

Single digit growth expected mostly due to low oil prices and an unpredictable Global Economy.

The State’s Rainy Day Fund continues to grow as well.
