Lufthansa Airlines will now fly nonstop from ABIA to Frankfurt

Lufthansa Airlines announces they will have nonstop service between Austin and Frankfurt Germany beginning May 3.

The service will run five days a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Lufthansa to Start Nonstop Service From Austin to Frankfurt, Germany on May 3

AUSTIN, Texas – Lufthansa, the world’s largest airline network will celebrate the start of international nonstop service between the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and busiest airport in Germany, the Frankfurt Airport (FRA) Rhein-Main-Flughafen, on Friday, May 3, 2019. The celebration, starting at 3 p.m. includes a ribbon-cutting, cake, live music, and remarks from airline executives and the airport to mark the start of five days per week service.

Media Coverage: Lufthansa invites media to cover this event. As this is located past security checkpoints, media representatives should contact Aviation PIO prior to arriving at the airport and then report to the Security Badging & ID office to receive visitor badges for access onto the concourse. The Badging Office is located at the far west end of baggage claim. Call and arrive before 1:30 p.m. as the process for receiving a visitor badge and security screening may take an additional 15-30 minutes.

Media should contact Aviation PIO prior to arriving at the airport. Media in marked vehicles may park at the upper-level curb media area, located at the far east end of the curbside.

Austin marks the third Texas gateway city to have nonstop service by Lufthansa. Currently, the AUS to FRA route is the only new North American nonstop addition announced by the German carrier this year. A Star Alliance network codeshare partner, Lufthansa’s first arriving flight LH468 from FRA to AUS, will land in Austin around 2:05 p.m. Flight LH469, will depart Austin at 4 p.m. for the nonstop flight to Frankfurt.  Tickets are available now at www.lufthansa.com.

Lufthansa will operate the flight with a 225 passenger Airbus A330-300 in a three-class cabin configuration. The aircraft has 42 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 185 Economy Class seats. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Optimally timed, flight LH469 will depart Austin at 4 p.m. and arrive at 9:05 a.m. in Frankfurt the following day. For passengers flying to Austin, LH 468 is set to take off at 10 a.m. from the Frankfurt Airport, arriving in Austin at 2:05 p.m. All times are local.
