The Texas Department of Transportation will host a workshop to discuss the proposed improvements to Loop 360 at Courtyard Drive/RM 2222 on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The workshop will be held in the Community Center at Riverbend Church, located at 4214 N. Capital of Texas Highway in Austin. The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation, so attendees can come and go at their convenience.
The purpose of the project is to improve mobility and safety at the intersections of Courtyard Drive and RM 2222. Proposed improvements include
• Reconfiguring RM 2222 at Loop 360 to a diverging diamond intersection
• Removing the traffic signal from the Loop 360 mainlanes at Courtyard Drive and adding an underpass (where the Loop 360 mainlanes cross under Courtyard Drive)
• Adding a shared-use path and sidewalks within the project limits to improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodations
Maps, drawings and project information will be on display, and project team members will be available to answer questions. Results will be available from the corridor-wide Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) survey conducted in November 2018, which gathered input to help TxDOT design Loop 360 to fit within its surroundings. CSS processes consider not only the physical aspects or standard specifications of a roadway, but also the resources in the surrounding community. Comments from the public are requested.
