The three suspects charged thought the victim was a drug dealer. CBS Austin reports 19-year-old Elanna Wilkes, 20-year-old Cornelius Martin, and 19-year-old Darius Burdett-Hornsby were arrested in Killeen.
According to police records Wilkes drove Burdett-Hornsby and Martin to the apartment complex in Cedar Park to rob another drug dealer.
22-year-old Austin Burroughs was allegedly shot by Burdett-Hornsby; using a gun belonging to Martin. After the shooting Wilkes said Burdett-Hornsby apologized and then put a gun to her head and ordered her to drive him back to his apartment on Old Manor Road and ended up keeping the gun.
Martin confessed he and Burdett-Hornsby robbed a woman earlier in the day. The victim’s wife identified the shooter.
