A study by Re-Max Associates confirms what a lot of millennials have learned the hard way: Texas doesn’t have enough homes in what would be considered “affordable” price ranges.
Re-Max’s Bob Jacobs says for decades builders were buying low-priced farm and ranch land close to cities, but now that land is gone. He says first-time buyers may have to settle for a home farther from the city, which he says is one reason why apartments are springing up by the hundreds.
