The City of Round Rock has reached an agreement with a developer for the construction of 1200 new single-family homes in an area just outside of the city’s jurisdiction. Director of Planning Brad Wiseman said the developer will annex the land to the city.
In exchange for voluntary annexation, the city will create a new Municipal Utility Distruct in order to levy taxes on property owners in the new development.
Some of that revenue will then be given back to the developer as reimbursement.
