Austin Transportation has begun construction of safety and mobility improvements to the intersection of Slaughter Lane and South 1st Street. Monday, crews completed improvements at the intersection of Slaughter and Cullen lanes.

Construction at Slaughter/South 1st is anticipated to last up to 6 months. Improvements will include new dual left-turn lanes on Slaughter Lane at the intersection. See all the improvements to this intersection and a map on the Slaughter/South 1st fact sheet.

“Thanks to the 2016 Mobility Bond, we’re breaking ground on projects making Austin safer and easier to get around, whether you are walking, biking, taking transit or driving,” said Mayor Steve Adler.

Improvements to Slaughter/Cullen were completed on December 10 and include increased storage space for cars waiting to turn left on Slaughter Lane and upgraded signals. See more improvements on the Slaughter/Cullen fact sheet. Slaughter/Cullen is the fourth Intersection Safety/Vision Zero project completed through the 2016 Mobility Bond.
