New curriculum focuses on police and teen driver interaction

There’s a new course for Texas high school students to pass this year

That class is about how to behave when teens are pulled over by the cops.  Legislation mandates this class and was spearheaded by State Senator Royce West, who says there is a lack of trust in some communities between police and the community

The curriculum will cover citizen rights, duties of police officers, how to behave during a traffic stop and how to file compliments.  and it’s something that really falls in line with some of what Austin police chief Brian Manley has discussed regarding community policing.
