A major construction project on Highway 620 breaks ground today in the Four Points area.
By 2021, TxDOT expects you’ll be cruising through the intersection at 2222 and 620 thanks to a new bypass which is breaking ground today. That bypass will begin about a mile north of Steiner Ranch Boulevard, stretching up to 2222. Separately, a raised median on 2222 will also be added. The $10-million project is being funded in large part by $7.5-million in voter-approved money from Austin’s 2016 mobility bond. This is one of two projects in that area, the other being the effort to widen 620 which is currently underway and may be complete by next year.
