The Austin City Limits music festival contributed $264-million to the local economy. That’s according to the numbers by Angelou Economics. Austin’s Mayor Steve Adler compared that amount to adding 3000 jobs to the Ausitn area, to which he added, “Since 2006 ACL Fest has generated nearly $2-Billion of economic activity. Thats the equivalent of creating about 21,600 jobs in our city.”
Mayor Adler continued his look at the big picture and reported the event has through the years raised more than $25 million for the community through its partnership with the city and the Austin Parks Foundation. Last year they raised more than $5-Million and handed outa check Monday morning.
