Tax Assessor and Collector Bruce Elfant tells Commissioners he’s taking to heart recommendations from the scathing Grand Jury report. Elfant said he’s trying to reopen satellite tax offices but is having trouble hiring candidates because they get offered better paying jobs before they can start with the county.
Elfant says he has staff to reopen another satellite tax office September 18 and one more in October.
