Superintendent Barbara Marchbanks made the call to cancel class for the rest of the week because of the sheer number of people within the Bastrop County school district that have come down sick with the flu. Marchbanks says less that 80-percent of first graders were in class yesterday, and less than 70-percent of pre-k and kindergartners were there.
There will be no make-up days required because of this. Custodial staff is sanitizing all buildings a buses and all should be ready to get back to normal by Monday.
