Another decades-old Austin restaurant is closing its doors

For more than 30-years, Threadgill’s has been an icon of Austin’s many local eateries.  But much like the many that have been forced to close their doors, Threadgill’s owner Eddie Wilson said it’s just not possible to keep up with the skyrocketing rent payments each month, which he says have topped $40,000.  So because of this, Wilson will be closing the South Austin restaurant on Riverside by November 30 for good, leaving only the North Lamar location still in operation.

Recently, the Frisco restaurant on Burnet Road made a similar decision to close its one remaining location after 65 years in business.
