There’s a new top cop at AISD. Ashley Gonzalez was picked to be the new Chief of AISD Police. Gonzalez, who was previously Deputy Chief of Police in Norwalk, Connecticut says the progressive nature of the city and district is what called him here.
Gonzalez replaces Erik Mendez who left a year ago to run the Cy-Fair ISD Police outside of Houston. Gonzales also tells the Statesman he opposes having armed teachers in schools.
