Austin Police Association says there is a war on the streets against police

Police across the state are showing their support for the Houston Police Department following the shooting of four officers yesterday.  The Houston police union says it is furious over the anti-police sentiment that has been on the rise, and Austin police union president Ken Casaday said he understands.

Casaday also said he believes that war is evident as seen this week with the shooting of four cops in Houston.

And he believes the problem of violent rhetoric against police has even permeated the very fabric of Austin’s local government, saying some city council members like Greg Casar, and even the Mayor, have helped fuel the flames of anti-cop sentiments, and that, he says, is what’s leading to police officers “dropping like flies” across the nation.
