Blue-Green Algae continues to plague Austin's water

Lady Bird Lake is seeing a harmful algae bloom. City of Austin officials say blue-green algae is common in the city’s lakes and this year some of that algae has started producing toxins in Red Bud Isle, Auditorium Shores and along Barton Creek between Barton Springs Pool and Lady Bird Lake.

The city will continue testing Lady Bird Lake and Barton Creek weekly. Adding, the algae will die off when cooler weather returns.
