Capital Metro is getting ready to open up a new South Austin Transit Center.
Capital Metro’s Ken Cartwright said the soon to be Westgate Transit center, located under Benwhite between Pack Saddle Pass and Manchca Rd, is wrapping up on it $3.5-million dollar construction and should be fully operational by early June.
Cartwright said they were allowed to use the land under the roadway through an agreement with TxDoT.
He believed, this will be a new mobility hub for South Central Austin and host 8 bus bays, converge seven bus routes and have room for about 200 parking spaces.
