City council approves move to use some of its office space for child care services

Taking a hard look at child care in Austin, Mayor Protem Delia Garza made a snap change during council session this morning, wanting to help end so called childcare deserts in the area, she switched to an item that has the city leasing a building for office space wanting it to be more family friendly and include more child care options.

Garza said the building being leased is in a child care desert and felt the city should also step up.
