Beginning on August 13, food truck owners and vendors can get both a health inspection and a permit free of charge to participate in the pilot, which the council recently approved to gauge the economic impact of allowing food trucks to operate within the city limits on any given day. Prior to the pilot, food trucks could only get special event permits and operate on very specific days.
So long as the food truck is not blocking things like fire lanes, sidewalks, or parking spaces, the city will be allowing them to operate. The free permits and inspections will be given through August 20.
