The Texas Medical Association is pushing for lawmakers to put health care improvements right up there with other top priorities like school finance and lowering property taxes. TMA President Dr. Doug Curran believes lawmakers are open to several initiatives.
He’d like to see lawmakers focus on things like closing loopholes that prevent childhood vaccinations, spending more money on cancer research and opening more residency slots at medical schools.
