Dukes named in Ethics Commission suit

Former State Rep. Dawnna Dukes

Dawnna Dukes finds herself in more hot water.

The Texas Ethics Commission filed a ten-thousand dollar lawsuit against former Austin State Representative Dawnna Dukes. KXAN reports the commission accuses Dukes of failing to file her semi-annual campaign reports on time. She’s been on the agency’s delinquent filers list for two years. Hays County Representative Erin Zweiner also has an unpaid $500 ethics fine. The report says Houston-area Rep. Ron Reynolds owes the most in ethics fines, over 52 thousand five hundred dollars. In total the commission is owed more than two million dollars in fines from officeholders, candidates, lobbyists and PACs.
