The problem came to light this year, and now Leander ISD is considering a few options, including retrofitting all of its current fleet with new air conditioning. Superintendent Dan Troxell says going this route wouldn’t come with immediate results.
It would also cost about $2.4-million. Other options include phasing in new buses that already have A/C over time, which could take longer but might end up costing the distrtc less money long term.
