Dangerously windy weather sweeping through the state brings power outages to Northern California as Pacific Gas & Electric stages blackouts designed to prevent catastrophic wildfires.

4. BUDA IS THE SAFEST CITY IN THE AUSTIN AREA ACCORDING TO A NEW REPORT FROM THE GROUP SAFEWISE

It put out a list of the 50 safest cities in Texas, and Buda ranked 15th on the list, the highest-ranking city in the Austin metro area. Hutto also made the list at number 32. Georgetown, Leander, Lakeway, Round Rock, and Cedar Park all were in the top 100. The report uses FBI crime data to come up with the rankings.


5. ROUND ROCK POLICE TRIED TO PULL OVER A MAN AFTER A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT, BUT IT TURNED INTO A SWAT SITUATION.

After hitting a couple of cars the man pulled off near southbound 35 at 79, then refused to leave his car. SWAT was called and eventually had to use teargas to get the man out and arrest him.
