Austin police end up shooting a man who had been threatening people around him with a gun. It happened in the 65 hundred block of Shadywood Drive. Assistant Chief Troy Gay says they tried to de-escalate the situation, but it didn’t work. He says when the man pointed his gun at officers that’s when two of them opened fire, hitting the suspect. A 48-year-old man was taken to South Austin Medical Center and is in stable condition.
