There have been several attempts to allow children who are home-schooled to be able to participate in UIL activities, both sports, and academics. Groups of parents are making that push again during this legislative session. Jamie Harrison with the UIL says public schools are against the idea.
Public schools say the home-schooled children could have an unfair advantage because they don’t face the same rigorous scheduled as public school kids do.
