This week Austin City Council changed a phrase in the Sobering Center’s by-laws that has them treating people under the influence of alcohol to people who are intoxicated. The difference according to executive director Rhonda Patrick is a big one especially for police who have to make the call in the field where to take an intoxicated subject.
Patrick says the sobering center’s soft-opening is expected in early August.
