St. David’s begins first apprenticeship program for nurses

Austin’s St David’s Healthcare is the first system in America to get U.S Department of Labor approval to classify registered nursing as an apprenticable occupation. St. David’s Clinical Education Assistant VP Donna Stewart says it helps novice nurses become better-season nurses.

Stewart says their first cohort of nurses will enroll in February.
