A man wanted on connection to a shooting in Austin is arrested in Georgia.

According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Gregory Horton of Pflugerville turned himself in to local authorities in Rome, GA when he learned the U.S. Marshal’s Office and Travis County officials had located him.

Horton is accused of shooting into a home on Wearyall Hill Lane on July 18, hitting a woman twice in the process.  An affidavit says Horton was allegedly in the woman’s backyard at the time and shot through one of her windows.  Her condition is not known but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

The woman told deputies she believed the shooter was Horton, a former boyfriend against whom she had a protective order.  An eyewitness later confirmed Horton’s identity, but a search of the general area turned up no sign of him.

Horton was tracked down in Georgia on July 20 and is currently in custody awaiting extradition back to Travis County.
