Democrat MJ Hegar has thrown in her hat to challenge Texas US Senator John Cornyn for his seat in 2020. But she still may have a primary challenger from other democrats, chief among them Joaquin Castro.
Hegar challenged John Carter for his North Austin Congressional seat in 2018 and lost by a small margin.
