Congressman Beto O’Rourke is hoping that Country Music star-power helps put him over the top in his senate race against Ted Cruz. Willie Nelson is sure hoping that’s the case.
Nelson’s headlining of the September 29th O’Rourke rally in Austin should help his Senate campaign according to Rice University Political Scientist Mark Jones but he doesn’t think it will change the polls that show O’Rouke and Ted Cruz within the margin of error. Nelson also included O’Rourke at his annual 4th of July picnic, Beto played guitar and sang backup.
