Austin Water Proposes ‘Water Forward’ Plan, Concept Plans Approved for Bee Creek Sports Complex, AISD to Host Meetings on Sex Ed Curriculum Changes

Hour one of the Todd and Don Show:  

• Travis County commissioners unanimously voted for the Bee Creek Sports Complex in Travis County which would include seven sports fields, batting cages, a meeting facility, a playground, picnic areas and trails

 • Austin Water has presented their “Water Forward Plan” to Austin City Council that includes recommendations for expanding underground water storage, known as aquifer storage and recovery, and getting more customers on board with water re-usage

• The Austin Transportation Department has released new rules on dockless scooters

• TECH NEWS:

-Amazon will be opening one of their new headquarters in Long Island City in New York City

• The Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin presented its inaugural In The Arena award to former First lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

• Leander ISD charges teachers and administrators $50 every year to plug in personal mini refrigerators on district property


Hour three of the Todd and Don Show:

• Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz claimed on Monday that Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes has “followed the law”

• The Austin Independent School District is planning on revising their Human Sexuality and Responsibility curriculum and is hosting community meetings and requesting feedback through November

• The CEO of e-cigarette maker Juul announced plans Tuesday to eliminate some of its social media accounts and halt most retail sales of flavor products as part of a plan to restrict access to minors


Hour four of the Todd and Don Show:

• Macy’s is testing smaller stores to slash expenses on staffing and inventory turning those shops into “neighborhood stores”

• Disney, once again, banned a man from company properties for holding up pro-President Trump signs which he had done once before
