Austin's water woes have put a strain on local hospitals

In the St. David’s Hospital system, most of the operations have been impacted to some degree.  Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ken Mitchell said that includes North Austin, South Austin Heart Hospital, St. David’s Surgical Hospital, two free-standing ERs, nine ambulatory surgery centers, and two urgent care centers.

Dr. Mitchell said the boil water order has caused a lot of headaches and they’ve been working round the clock since Sunday night to get operations back on track.
