While Republican lawmakers praise the US Supreme Court for narrowly upholding the President’s ban, civil rights groups are blasting the high court. Jim Harrington with the Texas Civil Rights Collaborative calls the decision a blow to human rights and sanctioning of religious prejudice against Muslims. Harrington said that connservative idiology will always come in to play, rather than follow what the law is.
Harrington also said that the Court is on the wrong side of history just as it was when it upheld slavery, Jim Crow laws and internment of Japanese Americans during WWII.
